1. Addressing the gathering
2. Thanking you for the invitation
3. Tribute to Vipulanandhan
First and foremost, I must express my heartfelt congratulations to all of the award recipients present. You’ve all worked hard and made sacrifices for over a year to get here. Some have gone on for even longer. It gives me tremendous satisfaction to see the diversity of students receiving honors, as well as the sheer number of pupils. An award ceremony not only recognizes academic achievements but also athletic abilities, managerial abilities, and personality. A prize giving is a venue to both motivate and be motivated, and I intend to perform my role wisely on this occasion.
I understand the sacrifices and efforts made by the students since I have been a prize winner. We are all aware that education is not our sole existence. Obstacles in our personal lives can have a significant impact on our potential to flourish in a certain sector. At times, it appears that everything is conspiring against us. It’s as though you’re rowing against the currents of a raging river. But perseverance and hard effort will never fail you. True, you may not see immediate results, but they will arise with time and reward you for your efforts. Remember, giving up implies yielding to the forces opposed to you, and you should always stand up for who you are and what you believe. Do not be disappointed if you are not a prize winner. There will always be another time, and this one trophy, or a collection of figures on a piece of paper, cannot and will not define your life: you do. So, define it well by doing everything wholeheartedly, with a sense of zeal to avoid regrets afterward.
If you receive an award, it demonstrates how much effort you put into it. Many restless nights and numerous anxieties would have passed you by. But the fact that you are here now comes before all of those difficulties. The scars you’ve got to get here demonstrate your strength and tenacity, and that’s what we see when you come up to get your prizes. And seeing so many of you here demonstrates Central College’s true spirit and the ideals ingrained inside the school. I consider myself privileged to have attended a school where industrious and determined students thrive. When a pupil graduates from high school, society expects him or her to be a well-rounded, informed, skilled, and self-sufficient citizen prepared to serve. Students are expected to gain
1. Basic knowledge of writing, speaking, and reading skills.
2. Basic foundation for further higher education,
3. Basic skills necessary to carry out independent tasks and daily living, and
4. To be useful to the community around them
However, every pupil requires a mentor who has already walked that route to lead them in the appropriate direction. Dr.Abdul Kalam said. ” The purpose of education is to make good human beings. Enlightened human beings can be created by teachers. ” Teachers have an important role in influencing pupils ‘ futures.
Teachers serve as excellent role models for kids. At this point, I feel obligated to acknowledge two of my instructors who helped shape me into the person I am today. Mr.Sivanesan was my class teacher when I initially started school in Grade S. I learned not just about the subject matter, but also about other traits such as appreciating and honoring others ‘ opinions and living a humble lifestyle.
Second is Mr.Mahalingam who was my maths teacher from Grade 6 to OL. I was very privileged to have him as my math instructor. I did not attend math tuition till OL. first year. He taught me all I know about mathematics. He was a strict teacher who insisted on our maths books being neat and tidy. When I received the top scores in the first term. he was impressed. He suspected that the paper had been leaked. Since then, our bond has been similar to that of a father and son. He used to counsel and encourage me even after my OLs. I’m still in contact with him. Despite his illness, I wish him a swift recovery and a long and healthy life. I ask that all teachers serve as role models for their pupils and be someone they can look up to.
Instead of giving students the solution, teachers should educate them on how to tackle the problem. They should advise and assist them by taking them step by step. Because when they are presented with an issue, they should be able to solve it on their own one day. Teachers should assist students to develop creative and critical thinking skills, as well as urge them to think outside the box in order to discover solutions.
Remember to interact with your students at all times. The upcoming generation is one of the most gifted generations of young people. involved in a variety of social activities, and has a daily impact on the world. Their point of view is valid since they are the leaders of tomorrow. So always listen to them, try to gain an understanding of their perspective and analysis on particular issues, and assist them in organizing them. If you believe they are adopting the incorrect stance on a subject, bring them back to the right track using logic rather than force.
Only 60 % of what is learned is retained by the human brain. Repetition is the only way to remember it. This is employed in the notion of “micro-teaching. ” This is accomplished by doing mini-discussions on the topic matter, which helps pupils recall information better.
Finally, teachers should assist pupils in developing crucial attributes such as self-confidence and a variety of other talents. Nowadays, students confront several problems after graduating from high school, and self-confidence is essential for conquering them. Students and teachers should also participate in extracurricular activities to obtain experience and build key competencies such as teamwork, accepting defeat, and respecting opponents. Co-curricular activities aid in the improvement of both physical and mental health.
Today, I’d like to focus on a subject that impacts us all: education. ” Education is the most powerful weapon that can be used to change the world, ” Nelson Mandela declared. Education’s roots may be harsh, but the fruit is precious. In today’s fast-paced world, one’s expertise is assessed by the knowledge they have. Knowledge may always be obtained, but the younger we begin learning, the more we can learn. What we learn as children tends to remain with us for a long time, and young minds are more adaptable to change than older ones. This is why education begins at such an early age.
Life is changing as the times change. Every year, something new is introduced. Education used to be limited to what was in a textbook or the library. However, you may now study anything and there are no constraints to education. Globalization has brought the world closer together and helped us understand that it is a small world after all. The Internet, the major advocate of globalization, was a fantastic innovation that benefits everyone in practically every way. Education has evolved into anything that can be learned from any place. Your age does not affect learning anymore. Only capacity and interest are required. You may learn about anything, from quantum physics to natural selection, the Iliad to Confucianism. You may also gain qualifications using the Internet. There are several free online courses available to help you learn and challenge your intellect. Consider yourself fortunate if you are still learning in this decade as you have resources that previous generations did not have. So, make the best of it and yourself by learning something new every day. It does not have to be something that everyone knows, but rather something that interests you. As we all know, a pen is mightier than a sword .
Technology is now employed in classrooms to raise educational standards and make learning more exciting and enjoyable. Even if you have doubts about what you learn in school, you can always use current technologies to better grasp and delve deeper into things. You may put what you’ve learned into practice by taking online quizzes and playing educational games, and you can review what you’ve learned by viewing videos and reading notes. Learning has become a lot more enjoyable and exciting, and you should attempt to make the most of it so that you may profit from it as well .
Another factor to consider. Being bright does not imply being a know-it-all. Intelligence may take many forms. You are intelligent if you know how to manage an issue. You are intelligent if you can answer logical problems. You are intelligent if you know how to socialize. To be clever, you don’t have to be brilliant at something that everyone expects you to be. You are intelligent if you are good at something, Failure in school does not imply a lack of intelligence. It indicates that your intelligence is someplace else, and you must use it to your advantage in order to serve society. Because doing something you adore and are competent at serves society better than doing something you are not keen on. Do not be concerned if you are unable to do something, Remember, you are not worth a bunch of red numbers. Have some self-esteem and self-respect, and never evaluate yourself by what you can’t accomplish, but rather by what you are capable of .
With all said in mind, I wish you all good luck in all your future endeavors and hope to meet you all again when the least and highest are unto the glory of God. Thank you.
