Applications for the technological stream are invited for Advanced level 2018 batch by the Principal of Jaffna Central College.
As the request made by the Principal from Hon. Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam who was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of JCC-Educare-Trust held Jaffna Central College on 18.03.2016, the ministry has granted the permission to starts technical stream at Jaffna Central College from this year.
Minimum qualification required at the G.C.E (O/L) to study technology subject stream is to pass six core subjects including the medium language, mathamatics and science at the G.C.E. (O/L) having credit passes at least for three subjects.
Our School society is very much glad to wish our students who obtained best results in G.C.E (O/L) examination. More than 20 students obtained more than 3A, pass in the examination 2015.
The class room teaching learning process is going to enhance with the help of Centralite Pushpakaran, OBA-London. Three Multimedia Projectors (Epson EB-S04, 3LCD tech), three laptops (Dell Inspiron i3) and other accessories worth LKR 450,000.00 were donated, on the request of sectional heads and Principal. The President and secretary of the OBA-London and Secretary of the OBA-Sri Lanka handed over the equipments to the Principal on 18.03.2016. on behalf of Mr. Pushpakaran.
France OBA donated bi-cycles, other sports equipments and cash LKR 50,000.00 to the school society. President of France Old Boys Association K. Muthukumar visited recently for the battle of the north.

France OBA donated LKR 50,000.00 to the scout troops of the Jaffna Central College for the purpose of purchasing the uniform and shoes for new members.
The 110th battle of north was inaugurated by introducing the two battle heroes to their respective principals at the Jaffna Central College playground at 10.00am. Hon. Minister Arjuna Ranathunka, Minister of Ports and Maritime Affairs, former winning world cup captain is the special guest for the 110th Encounter. Jaffna Central won the toss and selected batting for the innings. Master U. Priyalakshan and Master A. Jeromsan are the opening batsmen of Jaffna Central College.
First Day of the Match
Jaffna Central College front entrance arch opening ceremony held on 10th March 2016 at 8.30 am chaired by the principal S. K. Elilventhan. it declared open by old boy Mr. Shahul Hameed Mohamed Niyas on the memory of his late brother Al-Haj Shahul Hameed Mohamed Azmy (student 1979-1987) which cost about 1.8 million. it is on the occasion of the bi centenary of our college.

Mr.S.K.Elilventhan, Principal of Jaffna Central College extends his wishes to the 110th Encounter between Jaffna Central College and Jaffna St.John's College which starts on 10th March 2016.
The 110th encounter of battle of the North between Jaffna Central College and St.John’s College. This is the first largest uninterrupted Cricket match between two schools in the North of Sri Lanka. Both school principals held press conference at Romaine Cooke Hall on 2nd of March 2016 at 4.00 pm. Both school principals officially declared that the six hours, 90 overs ‘Big Match’ is to be played on 10th of March 2016 at 9.00 am in Jaffna Central College ground. Also, they discussed the guidelines, sports ethics, general rules and regulations for the play to the students, old boys and fans to keep the traditions and discipline during this friendly rivalry.
Jaffna’s big schools cricket encounter between Jaffna Central College and St. John’s College was clashed in the 109th ‘Battle of the North’ at the Central College grounds on March 5, 6 and 7 which is the oldest playing big match in Sri Lanka.
Our Student Master J. Abiman was won silver medal for 400 metres at National Athletic Competition-2014. After 35 years i.e. 1980’s Northern Province athlete Abiman set up a new meet record in the under 21 boys 400 metres when he finished the event in 49.6 seconds at this meet and got medal for track event.
The Annual Prize Giving of Jaffna Central College, Sri Lanka was held on 15th October, 2014 at Thamber Hall. The Chief Guests of the event was Centralite Mr.K.Muththukumar, France Old Boys Association. The Additional Director of Zonal Education-Jaffna Mr.P.Arunakirinathan, President of Old Boys Association-Jaffna Mr.S.Thamizlalakan, Parents and old boys were also present at the occasion.
Mr.M.J.Rajaratnam (Centralite), Sectional Head, Junior Secondary (8 – 9), retired from his 37 years teacher’s service on 29.08.2014. A Farewell function was held on 28th July 2014 at the Romaine Hook’s hall from 8.20 am to 9.30 am. Mr.Rajaratnam retired from J/ Jaffna Central College, where he served for the past 17 years, garnering many titles which include Sectional Head. Mr. Rajaratnam bid adieu to his teaching career.
Above occasion was chaired by the principal of the school. The Chief Gust Hon. Minister K. N. Douglas Devananda (Centralite) along with other distinguished Guests were taken in procession along with school band music from entrance to the park. Students, Teachers, old boys, well wishes, stakeholders and parents in great numbers graced above occasion.
